PhD Scholarship, Master’s by Research
About the opportunity:
Charles Darwin University is funding a Master’s by Research position to work on a project researching ways towards designing and constructing a zero waste building. This project will explore methodologies and processes to design and construct with the aim of reducing waste to landfill. In 2016-17, construction waste stream contributed the largest percentage, 29.6% of the total waste generated. This is an opportunity to work on identifying ways of managing this waste and achieving circular economy in the design and construction sector.

CDU is currently awarding one potential Master’s candidate to undertake their Master’s by Research degree on topics leading to Zero Waste construction. CDU seek expressions of interest from Australian Citizens and Australian Permanent Residents. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. It is preferable that the successful candidate resides in Alice Springs while completing the project. They will be selected on the basis of their strength of academic performance and compatibility of research expertise and industry skill.
About the scholarship:
The scholarship offers a living allowance of $28,092 (2020 rate) per annum and a tuition fee waiver for up to two years.
The applicants should hold minimum qualifications equivalent to Second Class Honours A. The scholarship will be competitively awarded, available during the relevant research period only, and cannot be deferred or transferred to another area of research without prior approval.

- Applicants will need to attend an interview and must meet the Charles Darwin University Master’s by Research entry requirements
