Recruiting under Covid 19 restrictions

We know we are at a critical point across the economy here in the UK and elsewhere; this is certainly true within Higher Education. We are in touch with our colleagues and our network across the sector and are acutely aware of the challenges both financially and with regard to learning that they are experiencing. It is unprecedented for us all.

This is a difficult time for many and we have taken a carefully considered, deliberate decision to continue to drive our growth and development. We are able to offer a number of people – both for academic and non-academic roles - great opportunities to work with us over the coming months and years.

Our flexible roles for academic content developers could be ideal for those seeking to supplement their income at this time, those seeking short term contracts, or perhaps graduating engineering students.

These roles provide potential employment opportunities for those seeking career development or indeed for those who might be out of work at this present time.

Additional ways for candidates to engage directly with recruiting managers and members of our wider TEDI-London team have been incorporated into the recruitment process to ensure a smooth and engaging candidate experience.

Who are we?

TEDI-London is an innovative new higher education institution in London wholly focused on engineering, co-founded by Arizona State University, King’s College London, and UNSW Sydney.

Our vision is to transform engineering education to transform lives – both for students and for the users of the products they design and make. Our mission is to attract and empower individuals and partners from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to develop the skills and confidence to create practical real-world solutions that advance how we live as a global community.

Variety and ambiguity is the way of life at TEDI-London

In a start-up, each day really is different. We work collaboratively at TEDI-London on big decisions, but also need individuals that take initiative and have the skills and experience to manage their own work areas. We are a start-up with huge ambition, but you should not expect to join an organisation with all the answers, and everything mapped out. That is what we need you for, to be part of our journey.

You will not have a huge team and infrastructure in place. One day you might be writing a strategy or paper for the board – another you might be proofreading a letter. You will relish the chance to be in a new organisation with a world of possibilities where you can genuinely see the value that you add on a daily basis. The team you work with will be from different functions and levels – all united in one goal -to make TEDI-London a success.

Academic Content Developers

We are seeking a significant number of flexible staff to develop Significant number of our learning ‘nodes’.

Our curriculum has been developed on a model in which the majority of learning outcomes are delivered through real-world projects, underpinned by our bespoke Virtual Learning Environment – our ‘Learning Tree’. The ‘Learning Tree’ is pivotal to our unique pedagogy and gives students access to the content of our curriculum ‘just in time’. Our team of academic content developers are developing the ‘Learning Tree’ and its content – comprising around 500 learning ‘nodes’, each of which is a 3-hour learning session.

We have a wide range of content to be developed in the following subject areas:

  • Business Skills
  • Computing
  • Design for innovation
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Engineering Skills
  • Maths and Physics
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Skills
  • Structural Engineering
  • Systems Engineering

These roles report into the Curriculum Lead (Technology Enhanced Learning) and will work collaboratively across the organisation to facilitate the delivery of our overall learning tree.

This is an exciting time to join us and play a significant part in shaping and developing our Curriculum content and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

We would be delighted if you review the Job Description, Values, Terms and Conditions and Proposition Document. We have provided a video of the recruiting manager discussing this current vacancy at the top of this page and a live Zoom Q & A session on Eventbrite in the Job Description attachment and also within this advert.
