Fixed Term, Part Time (7 hours per week)

Applications are invited for the post of Administrative Assistant in the Department of Politics, International Relations, and Philosophy for Professor Laura Sjoberg’s research and outreach efforts.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Administrative Staff of the School of Law and Social Science to provide support for Professor Laura Sjoberg. The successful candidate will work with British Academy Global Professor of Politics and International Relations Laura Sjoberg to provide support for both research and outreach projects in gender studies and international relations. You will (i) provide travel booking and reimbursement support for research and conference travel, both for Professor Sjoberg and for invited guests to Royal Holloway University; (ii) provide support for communication with research, outreach, and professional contacts, including maintaining contact lists and engaging in communication; (iii) provide administrative support for research, conference, and outreach efforts, including the production and transmission of materials advertising or supporting research gatherings and/or the Centre for Gender Studies.

The successful candidate will be able to work as a part of a team, have good administration skills, have the ability to communicate effectively via email, have strong organization skills, and have familiarity with the higher education sector. The successful candidate will also be able to work under pressure and meet specific details. Candidates with experience in higher education and/or familiarity with the administrative and academic organization of Royal Holloway University are preferred, but this is not a job requirement.

The post is based in Egham, where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
