Assistant/Associate Professor in Advanced System Analysis and Design

The Center for Design, Manufacturing and Materials (CDMM) of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the area of Advanced System Analysis and Design with a tentative starting date of January 2021. The areas of interest for the position include:

All candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Mechanics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computational Science or related areas by the start of the appointment. For the Associate Professor position, candidates are expected to have at least 6 years of academic or industrial experience after obtaining their Ph.D. degree.

The successful candidates must provide evidence of high-quality scholarly output and/or evidence of successful industrial projects. They will be committed to research activities at the Laboratory of Cyber-Physical Systems, to strengthening educational program of CDMM in Digital Engineering and Applied Mechanics, in particular in the area of Advanced System Analysis and Design, providing leadership to the team, recruiting and mentoring outstanding new researchers, and promoting partnerships with industry. Faculty duties include teaching at a graduate level, advising students, and conducting fundamental and applied research. All activities at Skoltech are carried out in English, therefore, candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Special emphasis is placed on advanced performance technologies for composite materials and structures, advanced manufacturing, computer aided design and engineering, computational materials design, micro- and nano- mechanics of materials. CDMM closely cooperates with industry and involves companies in the definition of plans, the development of programs, and the transfer of knowledge and know-how.
