Postdoctoral Fellow in Multi-Spectral Computed Tomography

Work type: Full-time
Department: Department of Diagnostic Radiology (20500)
Categories: Academic-related Staff

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Multi-spectral computed tomography in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology (Ref.: 500103), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The Department of Diagnostic Radiology consists of a team of enthused scientists and clinicians, and is looking for a prospective team member to work on multi-spectral CT particularly in pre-clinical animal scanner.  The Department has recently acquired a pre-clinical multi-spectral CT scanner (https://www.marsbioimaging.com/), and in addition to the existing micro PET/3T MRI machine, is pursuing important research questions in various areas including, but not limited to, multi-contrast labelling studies, in vivo animal studies, ex-vivo specimens studies, phantom and dosimetric studies.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.  They should be self-driven, highly motivated, creative with excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; and be able to work in a dynamic, diverse and forward thinking department with an international working environment.  English is the main language of communication in the Department and University.  First-hand experience of using multi-spectral CT scanner would be extremely favourable, but not a pre-requisite.  Abilities to work independently and think “outside the box” are keys and would be highly desirable.  The appointee will work in close collaboration with radiologists, physicians, biomedical scientists and engineers.  Enquiries about the post can be sent to Dr. Vince Vardhanabhuti at varv@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.

The University only accepts online application for the above post.  Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date C.V.  Review of applications will start on May 20, 2020 and continue until September 30, 2020, or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
