TECHNOLOGY LICENSING ASSOCIATE, Office of Strategic Alliances and Technology Transfer (OSATT)-Technology Licensing Office (TLO), to support the physical sciences technology portfolio.  Will administer existing intellectual property (IP) agreements, working with and under the direction of Technology Licensing Officers.  Responsibilities include serving as a liaison to and communicating with a variety of internal/external constituencies on invention disclosures, licensing activities, finances associated with IP agreements, and patent prosecution and maintenance matters; participating in licensing negotiations with industrial parties and drafting basic agreement clauses and amendments for review by the Licensing Officers; and negotiating and drafting joint invention administration agreements, material transfer agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and letters for review by Officers.  Will also handle administrative aspects of a Licensing Officer’s IP portfolio, including financial reviews, docketing important deadlines, supporting revenue distributions and entering information into a database management system, keeping internal records associated with agreements current, and generating reports.  May support technical marketing and act as a resource for the MIT community about technology commercialization process. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  B.S. in a physical science or engineering; one year of related experience; excellent priority and task management, proofreading, and written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly; self-motivation; ability to manage many parallel tasks/responsibilities despite interruptions; and comfort with ambiguity and an interest in clarifying and simplifying complexity.  Seek a results-focused, detail-oriented person who enjoys working independently and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced, strategic, and collaborative setting that that encourages critical thinking.  Those with technical writing and editing experience are encouraged to apply.
