Job Description Summary
The Administrative Coordinator reports to and supports the Executive Director of Communications & Stewardship of External Affairs at the Wharton School. This person must be able to work collaboratively as a member of the communications team and the department’s administrative coordinator team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: carefully managing, scheduling, and organizing the Executive Director’s calendar effectively managing time; coordinating Executive Director and team travel arrangements; planning and executing team meetings and activities; and providing budget oversight for team’s programs. This position will have a working knowledge of projects and deadlines to help ensure completion.
A high school diploma or GED and 5 - 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; bachelors degree from an accredited college or university strongly preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and to meet demanding deadlines. Strong initiative and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must have the ability to handle sensitive material and information confidentially. Maturity, poise, judgment, positive outlook, and professionalism are essential. Strong computer skills, MS office required.
