Job Description Summary

Assist members of the laboratory with experiment that study the regulation of metabolism and the circadian rhythm using mouse models.  Daily management of lab equipment, documents, and lab animals are needed to ensure compliance of the laboratory.  Will work closely with Senior Research Specialists, Post Docs, and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental procedures accordance to established protocols.

Job Description

Design and conduct experiments pertaining to the physiology of nuclear hormone receptors in mouse models. Assist with routine laboratory duties. The position requires the daily handling of mice, genotyping and colony maintenance. Attention to detail and careful record keeping of the mouse colonies is required. Experimental procedures include but not limited to weight tracking, blood collection, and metabolic tests. Lab work may include RNA isolation, qPCR, Western blots, etc. Data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Office, Library, Computer Room; Requires extensive safety
