Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Manager to join our research team. The Senior Research Manager will work in the Hensley laboratory in the Department of Microbiology at the Perelman School of Medicine (PSOM). The Hensley laboratory primarily focuses antibodies elicited by influenza viruses and vaccines. The laboratory completes basic and clinical immunology and virology experiments and some pre-clinical animal experiments. The successful candidate will be expected to take a leadership role to manage projects, train and supervise staff in the lab. These responsibilities will include training new students, postdocs and staff; supervising staff; managing complex projects involving multiple laboratories within and outside Penn; complete experiments and keep projects moving; analyze data; help prepare manuscripts and grants; regularly meet with PI to discuss projects; attend national and international conferences. Ph.D. in virology or immunology required and demonstrated experience managing large projects desired.

This position is contingent on funding.

Qualifications
Highly advanced professional discipline. Ph. D., 5 years of experience is required.
