FINANCIAL OFFICER, Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health (J-Clinic)-MIT-Takeda Program, to perform comprehensive financial management duties for J-Clinic and the newly launched MIT-Takeda Program. Will serve as one of the primary information and operations resources for principal investigators (PIs) and management; perform financial administration for the program’s various research and educational projects, including pre-award tasks for J-Clinic; monitor the financial performance of active research projects and fellowships and provide regular updates to verify the proper distribution of resources and use of funds; provide financial analysis and oversight and prepare reports for Pls and senior administrators; and monitor accounts to ensure compliance with MIT and Takeda policies through the life of the program, including close-out.

J-Clinic focuses on developing machine learning technologies to revolutionize the prevention, detection, and treatment of disease. It concentrates on creating and commercializing high-precision, affordable, and scalable machine learning technologies in areas of health care ranging from diagnostics to pharmaceuticals.  MIT-Takeda was established to fuel the development and application of artificial intelligence capabilities to benefit human health and drug development.  The program is centered within the J-Clinic. Both J-Clinic and the MIT-Takeda Program support MIT faculty, students, researchers, and staff who work at the intersection of AI and human health, ensuring that they can devote their energies to expanding the limits of knowledge and imagination. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in a related field; at least five years’ accounting/finance experience; knowledge of budget preparation and administration, financial recordkeeping, and reporting; strong computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel), enterprise accounting, and database tools; and experience with inventory and financial systems, online ticket systems, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.  Job #18609-8
