Maynooth University seeks an outstanding academic to join our staff as Professor of Statistics. The person appointed will have an excellent record in research, scholarship and publication, in teaching and educational innovation, and in academic leadership. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching, research and profile of the university, and to provide ongoing leadership for the discipline.

Applications are desired from outstanding researchers with a track record of high achievement in areas related to any of the following:

  • Applied statistics
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Bayesian modelling
  • Data analytics
  • Machine learning
  • Spatial statistics
  • Statistical computing
  • Time series analysis
  • Data visualisation

Professor A (Post 1995): €117,915 – €151,475 p.a. (6 points)
Professor B (Post 1995): €86,118 – €114,236 p.a. (6 points)

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

The decision to appoint as Professor A or Professor B is made by the President based on the report of the Selection Panel and the experience and track record of the successful candidate. To be appointed at Professor A level, the successful candidate will have an excellent record of published work of international quality and demonstrated leadership in their field, will be an excellent teacher and academic innovator, and will normally have experience and demonstrated capacity in administrative as well as academic leadership.
