ASSOCIATE OFFICER, Office of Strategic Alliances and Technology Transfer (OSATT)-Strategic Transactions Team, to negotiate, review, and manage the execution of material transfer agreements (MTA), non-disclosure agreements (NDA), and data use agreements DUA).  Responsibilities will include performing intake, negotiation, and facilitation of execution of MTAs, NDAs, and DUAs; advising Strategic Transactions Team members negotiating sponsored research and collaboration agreements on terms that involve data and material transfer provisions; creating and managing a repository of MTA, NDA, and DUA templates; managing and keeping updated the MTA, NDA, and DUA databases, including use of Kuali Coeus and MIT-QuickBase; recommending  improvements to senior strategic transactions officer on MTA/NDA/DUA intake process, contract management, and tracking systems; and working with Office of Research Compliance and Office of the General Counsel—at the director of senior strategic transactions officer--on compliance issues related to MTAs, NDAs, and DUAs, including data security.  Additional duties may include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating no-cost collaboration agreements that involve use of materials and/or data; and special projects that may be assigned by the senior strategic transactions officer.

Job Requirements

REQUIREDbachelor’s degree; at least three years’ relevant experience; technical or legal writing proficiency and experience reviewing and negotiating commercial and/or research agreements; excellent organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy, decision-making, and written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with MS Office and experience with or willingness to learn Kuali Coeus and content management/repository tools such as QuickBase and SharePoint.  Must be able to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment and to learn, interpret, and communicate MIT policies and guidelines. 

 PREFERRED:  law degree or legal or paralegal experience, and scientific experience.  Job #18491-8
