Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Early Modern History, Literature and Culture. The post will be shared across the Departments of History and English.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interdisciplinary scholarship and an ability to teach across both disciplines. The post-holder will contribute to the development of the Early Modern provision in the School of Humanities and to the delivery of the School strategies and objectives.
Expertise in the area of Early Modern History and/or Literature and Culture is required and additional expertise in one or more of the following may prove an advantage: late Medieval, the digital and/or cultural industries, Public History and/or Heritage, adaptation/remediation. Applicants should have a proven record of research and teaching in the specified field. Lecturers are expected to teach and supervise at undergraduate and postgraduate level, taking full responsibility for the design, management and delivery of their teaching. They are expected to undertake research in line with the departmental research strategies, with a growing reputation in their field of expertise. They will also play an active part in departmental administration as requested and agreed between the respective Department Heads.
