Job Description Summary

The research technician will work with senior post-doctoral fellows, research associates and pathology lab staff to perform general lab duties including cell culture, basic laboratory experiments such as western blots, PCR, processing of patient blood samples, patient biospecimen annotation and tracking, and shipping of samples to collaborators.

Job Description

The responsibilities include that the individual will perform various research laboratory assignments, in accordance with standard practices and procedures. This position requires organizational skills and basic lab skill. The individual will maintain and organize tissue biospecimens, cell culture inventory and general lab maintenance activities. The individual will help plan experiments and perform the experiments with exquisite documentation and maintenance of all necessary records for regulatory compliance and publication. As needed, the individual will also assist in data collection for grant applications. Position is contingent upon funding.

 

Qualifications:

 

Associate’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
