Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist in biologic and molecular biologic studies aiming to develop treatments for inherited blindness. The individual will carry out studies relevant to testing proof of concept of gene-based therapies in vitro and in animal models and will receive guidance from a senior scientist.

Job Description

Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tool, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with Senior Research Specialists and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/clinical work set ups in accordance to established protocols.

Carry out specific research procedures on experimental samples as directed; prepare laboratory reagents and maintain inventory of reagents; perform routine calculations and maintain appropriate log books and lab notebooks; assist in writing methods and setting up protocols accurately under the direction of a senior scientist; maintain laboratory safety procedures and compliance records; carry out analytical procedures independently; maintain records of data and carry out analyses as required.

Position is contingent on funding.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
