Research excellence is a strategic priority for ACU and the Peter Faber Business School (PFBS). The School’s academic staff are expected to publish their scholarly works regularly in journals rated ‘A’ or ‘A*’ by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC). ‘Improving lives through meaningful work’ serves as the School’s key research focus. Closely aligned with ACU’s mission in the pursuit of knowledge, the dignity of the human person and the common good, researchers explore scholarly themes through the lens of cultural, social, psychological and ethical enquiry. Our influential work in this domain features in several of the world’s leading journals.

This position will provide and engage in the pursuit of world leading research, individually and collectively, for the benefit of our students, staff, government, non-governmental organizations, industry and communities, delivering practical solutions to their real-world problems. The position has a substantial leadership element  and will contribute across the full range of academic activities across learning and teaching, research, academic management and engagement, specifically the successful candidate is expected to contribute research output of the highest caliber and play a pivotal role in the School’s new HRM-OB Research Cluster

To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Exceptional research leadership
  • World leading research outputs, evidenced by ABDC A* rated journal publications
  • Ability to seek research grants and/or industry funding
  • Mentorship of her/his peer group, including early career academics
  • Research impact and engagement endeavours, working closely with external stakeholders
  • Ability to attract high-quality doctoral candidates, serving as supervisor
  • Leadership in curricular developments and teaching expertise and experience in an appropriate Management discipline
  • Capability in representing the School internally and externally, as requested
  • Responsibility and accountability for achieving evidence-based excellence in all areas of activity

Total remuneration valued to $148,621 - $161,356 pa, including salary component $125,766 - $136,650 pa (Academic Level C), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading   OR  Total remuneration valued to $168,434 - $185,408  pa, including salary component $142,700 - $157,208 pa (Academic Level D), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
