VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENTedX, to expand edX’s mission of providing access to education all over the world by planning and fund-raising major gifts from individual donors. Will serve as the first VP of Development and key spokesperson for the organization and assume responsibility for creating and executing a strategy that meets edX’s fund-raising goals, with a focus on philanthropic donations.  Responsibilities include developing a comprehensive strategy for edX’s annual development goals, while building upon the capability of its development team; researching prospects and cultivating deep ties with high profile individuals, promoting edX’s story, through a variety of edX sponsored events and meetings; pioneering and advance the edX Global Strategic Board to create a community of influential philanthropists world-wide behind the edX mission; collaborating with edX C-suite and business development, strategic partnerships, and marketing leaders to execute on its strategy; and establishing metrics and KPIs to analyze development progress and identify areas for optimization.  EdX is a Cambridge-based nonprofit whose mission is to offer a world-class education to everyone, everywhere, allowing them to gain the in-demand skills and knowledge that will lead to fulfilling careers and lifelong success.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  ten years’ professional fund-raising/development experience, ideally in universities/non-profits; proven success meeting ambitious annual development goals in the tens of millions; ability to create, implement, and track a strategic, data-driven major gifts plan; comfort in an outward-facing role, prospecting and growing the relationships of potential donors while leveraging existing network, with an emphasis on stewardship; experience planning and managing large fund-raising events and smaller personal gatherings; entrepreneurial approach to fund-raising and propagating edX’s vision. Job #18699-S
