SEMINAR SERIES AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2, Center for International Studies-Security Studies Program (SSP), to plan and coordinate a weekly seminar series and special events. Will support two to three faculty members; interact with high-level visitors, including senior members of the military and government organizations; and perform complex and diverse clerical, administrative, and financial duties in support of faculty and research staff. Other administrative duties will include preparing academic course materials using Stellar and learning modules; coordinating travel and processing travel expenses; booking classroom space; gathering information for reports; composing and editing internal correspondence and documents; maintaining files and databases; overseeing research spending on selected projects; reconciling accounts; and performing other duties as requested. Will work closely with the assistant director and director of the SSP program. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: at least three years’ professional administrative/office experience; ability to coordinate several events and projects simultaneously; strong organizational, project management, analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and written and verbal communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; technical proficiency with MS Office/Outlook and willingness to learn new programs and software as needed; and the ability to learn and master financial systems and work both independently and as part of a team.  Seek a highly motivated individual who exhibits excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when working with visitors. Bachelor's degree and experience with MIT accounting preferred.  Job #18394-5
