MANAGER, DATA ASSETSMIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo),to lead the Data Assets (DA) team responsible for MITIMCo’s data, ultimately ensuring that the data consumed by MITIMCo’s end users is timely, accurate, and complete. The team will define and implement processes and procedures for daily management of data and maintain and grow a robust and scalable data repository that enables rapid development of new investment and analysis ideas. Responsibilities include providing reliable, high-quality proprietary and non-proprietary production data for use in operations, portfolio management, and research for the Cambridge Real Estate Group and Global Investment Team; collaborating on exploring new and emerging technologies in support of data storage, sourcing, curation, and meta-data management; collaborating on assimilating data requirements; and working across MITIMCo to help define workflows and data models to support proprietary data storage, curation, and completeness.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: seven years’ relevant operational experience in data management, analysis, and reporting, preferably in investment management with real estate exposure; deep knowledge of the data needs of an asset allocator/endowment; experience working with third-party data providers like Capital IQ, Bloomberg, etc.; strong Microsoft Office, SQL, and BI skills; people and operational management experience; proven leadership in transformative projects related to master data management; understanding of differing data requirements and how they correlate to and affect the broader organization’s operations; strong verbal and written communication skills; proactive problem-solving skills; initiative; and keen attention-to-detail.  Must be able to collaborate effectively to achieve objectives; communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences; make decisions in a timely manner; quickly understand new concepts; deal with ambiguity; and exercise independent judgment.  Investment management experience strongly preferred. Job #18168-12
