Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant in Gender and International Relations in the Department of Politics, International Relations, and Philosophy.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual and/or individuals to join the research project “Sexual Relations as International Relations” as Research Assistant. The successful candidate will work with British Academy Global Professor of Politics and International Relations Laura Sjoberg on both research and outreach projects in gender studies and international relations.

You will:

  1. (i) provide assistance doing research on gender, sexuality, and state borders;
  2. (ii) provide logistical organizational support to Professor Sjoberg’s research;
  3. (iii) provide support for the development of the Centre for Gender Studies at Royal Holloway University.

The successful candidate will be able to use citation software, will be fluent in a wide variety of citation formats, and will be familiar with political and historical research methods. The successful candidate will also have the ability to keep accurate records, strong communication skills, the ability to communicate with academics and funders by email, and the ability to work independently under regular supervision. Candidates with a substantive interest in gender and international relations are preferred, but this is not a job requirement.
