You are invited for a Research Associate in Marine Technology to work on an EU funded Interreg Atlantic project “EMPORIA4KT - Empower academia for knowledge transfer for value creation in the Atlantic Area”. The project will improve transnational cooperation and synergies between triple helix players to foster innovation and competitiveness in Atlantic Area’s blue economy, by focusing on upgrading Academia skills for knowledge transfer (KT) and innovation. It will enable the design of market directed Research, Development & Innovation (RDI) projects.

The objective of this post is to contribute to technology development such as bio-technology solutions to maritime infrastructure (e.g. seaports) maintenance and decarbonisation. The role provides the unique opportunity to work with a driven and hardworking research team within the University, along with researchers from the Departments of Maritime and Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Built Environment.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, you will have a main role in leading and managing the project to ensure its progress including preparation of both technical and administrative documents, attendance of project meetings, and reports on progress on a weekly basis. In addition, you will manage research resources and budgets and ensure effective use is made of them.

The ideal applicant will hold a PhD in in marine / civil engineering and technology subjects, will be self-motivated with a proven track record in a relevant engineering discipline and with life cycle assessment skills.
