About the Job
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Post-Doctoral Fellow to be responsible for conducting research in collaboration with incoming Director, Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing, Professor Jean Brodie. The successful applicant will work on research involving observational studies of extragalactic star clusters, galaxies and clusters of galaxies, using large ground-based optical/near-IR telescopes and observatories in space.
Your work will directly support the goals of the ‘SAGES’ project (sages.ucolick.org). As the Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will conduct independent research and work collaboratively with other staff within the Centre of Astrophysics and Supercomputing as well as with outside collaborators, and progress towards building an independent research career.

To be successful in the role, you will have:
- PhD qualification in observational astrophysics
- Proven track record of research in galaxy formation and evolution as demonstrated by publications
- Experience in handling data from optical/IR imaging cameras and spectrographs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work within a diverse team
