SENIOR ALLIANCE MANAGER, Office of Strategic Alliances and Technology Transfer (OSATT), to play a key role in a team-based approach to the faculty-centric development and execution of sponsored research, collaboration, and related agreements. OSATT provides MIT and its faculty with strategic and tactical execution for the conversion of promising external engagements into clear agreements and impactful operation of research, education, and capacity building. Will be the primary contact between MIT and external sponsors for specific sponsored programs; execute key strategic and tactical roles to ensure the continued success of engagements; maximize the value of sponsored research, educational, or sponsored capacity building programs by facilitating their formation, participating in their standup and implementation, and furthering sponsors’ engagement into new opportunities; participate in strategic planning; and work closely with faculty leadership, Corporate Relations, and key stakeholders across MIT.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: MBA/M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) in science, engineering, or management; and at least ten years’ experience working with industry or other non-U.S. government organization or not-for-profit within the U.S. or internationally. Must be able to relate effectively to faculty and manage relationships with senior executives/officials in large institutional environments, i.e., industry, government, or not-for-profit research sponsors; understand, communicate, and present complex business and technical information in sales, service, or government contexts; and grasp complex issues and identify solution paths.
PREFERRED: experience in business-to-business technical sales, technology transfer, marketing, consulting, or international relations; experience in academic research sponsored programs and understanding of sponsor interactions related to research or education missions; fluency with languages and cross-cultural relationship skills; and a degree from or experience at MIT.
