TECHNOLOGY LICENSING OFFICER, PHYSICAL SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING, Office of Strategic Alliances and Technology Transfer (OSATT)-Technology Licensing Office (TLO), to represent MIT in the Boston/Cambridge entrepreneurial ecosystem in the heart of Kendall Square. Will work with MIT’s brightest scientists and engineers to advance the development of groundbreaking technologies by fostering strategic relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and industry partners. Responsibilities include assessing commercial potential of new technologies, managing a broad intellectual property portfolio, developing and implementing strategies for the marketing and licensing of technologies to commercialization partners, and negotiating license and collaborative research agreements.
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree strongly preferred) in physics or engineering that included research experience; at least seven years’ relevant experience involving technology development and commercialization or business development; strong acumen in the optical or communications industries; ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals, including faculty, students, industry executives, entrepreneurs, attorneys, and investors; excellent negotiation and oral and written communication skills; and fluency in English. Must be adept at reading complex research and license agreements; diagnosing complex business, interpersonal, and interorganizational issues; dealing with ambiguity; and multitasking. Job #18654-12
