We are seeking an experienced and skilled qualitative researcher to join our multidisciplinary team examining adolescent mental health and digital technology, particularly in the context of clinical encounters. This role forms part of a newly awarded MRC/ AHRC/ ESRC study in which we will engage with a wide range of stakeholders (young people, parents/ carers, health and social care practitioners, academics and digital technology providers) and carry out pilot research exploring both the benefits and risks of young people’s digital technology use in relation to mental health and mental health care. The main purpose of the post is to oversee and co-facilitate stakeholder engagement work and to carry out relevant data collection and analysis for the pilot studies.

The successful applicant will work within Population Health Sciences at the University of Bristol, maintaining links with the Elizabeth Blackwell Institute of Health who are affiliated with this project. They will be expected to work closely with the Chief Investigators to ensure the successful delivery of a high-quality research project. They will be required to liaise and build working relationships with a diverse range of individuals.  

The post is part-time (4 days a week) and for 12 months, starting ideally in early April 2020 and will suit someone with a background in applied health services research or related disciplines. Strong communications skills are essential along with experience of patient and public involvement work and a proven track record of excellent qualitative skills in data collection and analysis.
