The OHS brings together academically talented and motivated students from around the world into a vibrant intellectual community with teachers who are passionate about their disciplines, accomplished in their fields, and above all, dedicated to teaching. In the live discussion seminar, a cornerstone of the OHS education, students and teachers engage in a rigorous academic program that develops the critical reasoning and argumentation skills essential for success at the collegiate level and beyond. Your responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and lead engaging synchronous online discussion sections with small class sizes, meet with students in office hours, and assist students in using additional resources to achieve course learning objectives.
  • Monitor student progress, give feedback, complete grade assessments, and team with students, parents, Division Head, counseling staff, and administrative staff in support of student progress.
  • Assist with development and revision of curricula to incorporate the latest approaches in the discipline.
  • Develop and teach residential summer mini-courses.
  • Serve as advisor to vibrant student clubs and activities and engage in OHS community events in-person and online.
  • Serve on school committees, such as Diversity & Inclusion, Global Learning Network, or Technology.

To be successful in this position, you will bring the following minimum requirements:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent course work) in computer science or related discipline. Ph.D. in computer science or related discipline strongly preferred.
  • At least one year experience teaching at the high school or college level, or equivalent.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.)
  • Strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, students and parents.
  • Facility with teaching traditional and online courses.
  • Proficiency using computer applications.
  • Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Ability to frequently sit, and consistently perform desk-based computer and office related tasks.
