The successful applicant will cover research and teaching in the field named above.
Appointment requirements are governed by Article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz).
The successful candidate should have an international record of teaching and research in the field of inorganic chemistry, preferably with an emphasis on inorganic main group chemistry. They should also have experience with carrying out teaching responsibilities for inorganic chemistry courses and be able to teach in German and English. The appointee should also be able to demonstrate experience in acquiring and leading externally funded research projects.
Along with the regular official duties of professors listed in Article 99 of the Berlin Higher Education Act, we expect the appointee to engage in the following activities:
The successful applicant should cover the breadth of the field including the range of subjects offered by the department in its degree programs, in particular the bachelor’s degree program and the bilingual master’s degree program in chemistry. The new professor should be prepared to enhance and/or complement the department’s established research focus areas. The appointee is also expected to contribute to research groups and networks in Berlin, such as CRC 1349 “Fluorine-Specific Interactions: Fundamentals and Functions,” and to conduct their teaching in such a way that is attentive and sensitive to diversity issues.

If applicable, please give information on partnerships with industry, inventions/patents, and spin-offs.
