At TU Dresden the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD), an institute of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB), offers a position as

Research Associate in Bioinformatics
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible. The position is initially limited to 24 months.

The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). 
The Center for Regenerative Therapies (CRTD; www.crt-dresden.de) is a research center with currently 22 research groups and 250 employees. The CRTD's research focuses on regenerative and stem cell research, with research approaches ranging from basic research to application in a clinical-translational context, thus laying the foundation for novel diagnoses and therapeutic options. 

Tasks: You will work closely with the research groups of the CRTD and support experimental scientists with bioinformatics issues and prospectively establish a bioinformatics service unit. Your tasks include OMICs and NGS data analysis, analysis of bulk RNA-sq and single cell RNA-sq, chip-sq, ATAC-sq, DNA methylation and DNA sequence data; Gene Set Enrichment and signal path analysis (Gene Ontology, MsigDB, Reaktom, KEGG) and biological interpretation; the performance of basic and advanced statistical methods, in particular multivariate analysis methods (dimensional reduction, cluster analysis, regression analysis); and participation in the design and evaluation of CrispR-Cas9 based screenings. Furthermore, you will participate in courses on applied bioinformatics within the Master's program Regenerative Biology and Medicine.

Requirements: university degree in a scientific-technical subject (preferably bioinformatics or  computer sciences) or a similarly suitable course of study; willingness to potentially establish a bioinformatics service unit; advanced knowledge in OMICs, NGS data analysis, bioinformatics analysis, in bulk RNA-sq and single cell RNA-sq data analysis; knowledge in Unix/Linux and scripting (e.g. Shell, Python, Perl, R), in statistics, in molecular biology and sequencer technology, statistical and signal path analysis and in biomedicine. In addition, strong communication skills and intercultural competence as well as reliability, initiative, capacity for teamwork and a high level of motivation are required. Due to the international composition of the institute and the interface function of the position, very good written and spoken German and English skills are also required.
