Senior Research Fellow of Archaeology

Duties and responsibilities
- High-level RD activities, incl. publication experience in high-level international peer-reviewed journals, successful research grant initiation and management, participation in international research projects, interdisciplinary research experience.
- Internationally recognised research.
- Supervision of academic and technical staff members involved in RD activities.
- Participation in the research-organisational activities of international dimension, incl. in collaboration networks, working on the editorial panel of research publications or as a reviewer, work as an expert in foreign institutions (e.g. evaluating academic institutions, evaluating academic staff or allocating research grants).
- Teaching of primarily master’s and doctoral students, using modern teaching methods and educational technology, and supervision of students, incl. doctoral students.
- Professional development to enhance teaching and supervising skills.
- Activities related to the governance and institutional development of the university, including participation in the work of academic and administrative decision-making bodies.
- Popularisation of the archaeology.
- Research and teaching topics should preferably relate to the fields of archaeological sciences with focus on archaeochemistry (esp. organic residue analysis, biomolecular archaeology, provenance and migration studies).

Required qualifications
- PhD or an equivalent qualification. See also requirements for teaching and research staff.
- Required experience
- Ability to direct RDC activities in the specialisation, lead a research group and supervise teaching, research and technical staff members.
- Internationally recognised professional research, the volume of which so far is equivalent to that of at least two doctoral theses, incl. internationally recognised research in the last five years at least in the volume equivalent to that of one doctoral thesis.
- Success in applying for research funding and directing RDC activities and performing RDC contracts in the last five years.
- Participation in the work of the international community in the specialisation, incl. participation in the work of professional societies or their subunits or in international RDC projects, work on the editorial panel of research publications or as a reviewer, work as an expert in foreign institutions (e.g. evaluating academic staff or allocating research grants).
- Ability to organise teaching and teach at all levels of higher education.
- Effective supervising of master’s and doctoral students.
- Experience in team or project management.
