Research Fellow (Prof. S Thameem Dheen's Lab)
The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Fellowship in the Department of Anatomy, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Department has a strong Health and Biomedical Sciences research program, particularly in the key areas of neurological disorders, cancer research and regenerative medicine.
Purpose of the post
The appointee will be a research fellow who will be responsible for performing research in neuroscience, with focus on microglia in stroke pathology.
Main duties and responsibilities
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who will be actively involved in performing routine lab work such as cell culture, molecular and epigenetic analyses.
Qualifications
The applicant should:
- Have a PhD degree in neuroscience or related fields
- Have a proven track record with at least one first-author paper in a peer review journal
- Have previous experience in cell and molecular biology techniques and epigenetic analyses
- Have experience in rodent handling and surgery (MCAO model)
- Have experience with CRISPR-Cas9 techniques and transgenic animal work
