Job Description
The Department of Radiology at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is announcing the position of a research assistant in neuroscience.The research is to estimate psychophysiological outcomes of brain atrophy by performing a cross-sectional study of the population of the UAE.
Tasks to accomplish:
to perform a brain morphometry study; to conduct physiological, psychological and dynamometry testing of the examinees; to perform post-processing of the MRI data; to perform statistical analysis of the acquired data.
Requirements for an applicant:
Applicant have to have expertise in MRI acquisition, postprocessing for brain morphometry quantitative metrics, statistical analysis of big datasets. Good background knowledge in neuroradiology is needed. The candidate will be responsible for checking the quality of clinical images to get a desirable quality of MRI data at acquisition. S/he will also perform psychophysiological and dynamometry testing of participants of the research. In addition s/he will assist the undergraduate students, if involved in the same project. To participate in reviewing literature on the issue of the research and discuss the research results, it is appreciated that the candidate has a scientific background and is aware of the research methodology used in neuroscientific research. We are looking for a hard-working individual who is committed to outstanding research with genuine interest in neuroscience, MRI, psychophysiology.
This appointment is for 2 years.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
- Ability to analyze and interpret brain MRI images and other scientific data
- Communicate effectively with health care professionals
- Communicate fluently in English language
- Preparing Health care / hospital statistics
- Ability to work with SPM, FSL frameworks, SlySoft Statistica or SPSS Statistics
- Excellent knowledge of using the Internet and E-mail.
