The University of Adelaide’s School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences has achieved impressive indicators of excellence in 11 years of operation. The School’s veterinary program leapt into the Global Top 50 in the 2019 QS academic discipline rankings and received an ERA evaluation rating at level 5 (well above international standard) in the 2019 Excellence for Research in Australia evaluation round. The School provides exceptional outcome-based education and training of animal and veterinary scientists in a strong research environment, consisting of world leading multi-disciplinary teams that provide opportunities for cross disciplinary research, education and innovation in animal health and welfare.
The school now invites applications for an exciting new full-time academic position in Animal Science. To be appointed, the successful applicant will have the ability to contribute to teaching excellence in physiology in the Animal Science, Animal Behaviour and Veterinary Technology programs. The successful applicant will have demonstrated abilities to attract research funding and develop a high quality research program within Animal Science in the future.
You will need to be an enthusiastic, innovative and team-orientated person with a passion for delivering the highest standards of research and teaching. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be motivated to play an important role in the delivery of all programs offered at Roseworthy campus.
To be successful you will need:
- PhD or equivalent experience in Animal Science, Agricultural Science or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge in livestock production with a particular emphasis on physiology.
- Demonstrated ability in undergraduate teaching.
- Ability to contribute to the development and conduct of high quality teaching and research in animal sciences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds in the development of funding applications and implementation of research projects.
