The School of Built Environment is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Fire Safety Protection to join their School. The School of Built Environment is a brand new School established in 2020. The School is home to the primary disciplines of architecture, construction management and industrial design and professional areas of project management, design management, quantity surveying, building surveying, fire safety and emerging areas including; construction informatics, architectural computing and urban design. The School integrates the core discipline areas that drive creative digital disruption, technological entrepreneurship and the development of intelligent and liveable environments. The School offers a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs and research programs that combine advanced knowledge, creative problem solving and invention with work-integrated learning and interdisciplinary experience to address the challenges of succeeding in the dynamically changing contemporary world. The School programs are to be accredited with the respective professional bodies. The programs are offered across four campuses: Parramatta-CBD, Parramatta South, Penrith and Westmead.

The School is aiming to host internationally recognised researchers and has been recognised in the 2019 Excellence in Research Australia for 1202 Building as achieving at world class research. There is potential to create research teams and build capacity in cross disciplinary architecture, construction, industrial design and urban research themes that intersect with other high performing areas in the University such as culture and society, health, environmental, mathematics, data sciences and engineering. Our programs include undergraduate degrees, honours degrees, postgraduate degrees, graduate-entry Masters programs, coursework Masters programs, and higher degree research programs including Research Master, Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

In this position you will be expected to have demonstrated curriculum design and delivery experience related to fire safety and/or building regulations, a PhD in Built Environment or related field, have industrial experience in the construction industry related to Fire Safety Protection and Building Regulations and to bring that knowledge and experience into the ‘classroom’. You shall foster external linkages and actively engage industry with the Fire Safety Protection program and shall play a leading role in supporting the Work Integrated Learning curriculum design and delivery. The position is aimed at a candidate who has been involved in delivery of online courses within their field of expertise to both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and also has roles in developing and delivering executive training programs for the industry practitioners. The area of expertise is negotiable but preference will be given to a leading edge practitioner in either/or the following areas: Building Regulations, Bushfire, Fire Safety Protection and Development Control.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Parramatta South Campus.

Remuneration Package:
Academic Level B $122,848 to $144,960 p.a. (comprising Salary of $103,808 to $122,578 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
Academic Level C $149,349 to $171,321 p.a. (comprising Salary of $126,329 to $145,109 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
