Position Focus:

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager of Analytics, Quality and Safety, this position will serve as a Clinical Data Analyst to support Clinical radiology programs and projects in the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging. The analyst will build, manage and optimize reports and create presentations/materials/data for the Department Leadership. This role will function in a multidisciplinary team environment, and will prepare forecasts and analyze data trends, reports, spreadsheets, and other analytical tools as related for project needs.

The ideal candidate will participate in all aspects of project coordination, implementation, and reporting of results related to a variety of data sharing and regulatory clinical research. This position is responsible for determining the most efficient and accurate use of data analytics, reporting, and imaging informatics. Working independently, and/or working as a team player, provide original thought and support from project inception to implementation. The analyst will develop and analyze metrics, performance measurements/requirements, department reports and recommendations related to management, organizational structure, policy/procedures and business systems.

General responsibilities of the Clinical Data Analyst will be to manage existing and new data requests and complete all related tracking of data requests, new studies, communications, including routinely update data platforms and monitor for maintenance updates, and strategize/problem solve, and complete ad hoc inquires received. The Research Associate will also coordinate and lead regular meetings that include agenda preparation and meeting minute documentation and action-item follow up, manage timelines and research activities for each project, assist in the develop of procedures and protocols, and prepare written and oral reports and presentations. Additionally, this role will provide expertise and participate in the planning of materials and presentations for committee meetings.

The ideal candidate must be able to successfully function in a multi-hospital, multi-disciplinary team environment where data will be tracked and measured across multiple delivery networks. Candidate must have excellent organizational skills to assist in developing workflow charts, timelines, tracking and follow up.  The ideal candidate will be able to analyze data from different perspectives to identify relationships and provide meaningful data outcomes, and be able to perform independent statistical analysis and algorithms for projects.

Candidate will play a pivotal role in operationalizing data captured across a range of software applications. This position will provide excellent customer service skills, will serve as a back-up for developing agendas, set up meetings with internal and external participants and vendors for in-person, teleconference, or video-conference meetings, taking meeting minutes, and following through on action items due for all projects. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, along with an absolute commitment to data quality and integrity.

Essential Duties

Develop and execute new and/or highly complex algorithms and statistical predictive models and determine analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate potential future outcomes. Establish analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amount of data, using advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses.  Manage analytical projects from data exploration, model building, performance evaluation, through implementation. Develop work plans and monitor progress and project timelines. Document coding and changes to work plans using established work group methods in GitHub. Interact with a multidisciplinary team of internal and external peers to regularly, effectively, and openly communicate progress and outcomes of planned work. Attend weekly team meetings to discuss team and project-related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.

Required Education and Experience

Master’s Degree in computer science, applied/computational mathematics, engineering, biostatistics, statistics, or a quantitative field such as astronomy or geology, and 2 years of hands-on experience in deep learning or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Well-developed verbal, written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in written and verbal forms with internal and external contacts, faculty, leadership staff and staff.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Attention to detail with the ability to produce high quality work in a fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, and is receptive to feedback and direction.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Self-starter who can work independently with ability to switch focus quickly in a multi-hospital, multi-disciplinary team environment.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Proficient in in MS Office suite specifically MS Excel.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Proven knowledge of programming languages, data visualization tools and design.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Advanced mathematics, Statistics, SQL, machine learning theory, artificial intelligence (AI), and programming skills related to healthcare experience.
