About the Job
In this role, you will contribute to the research activities of the School with specific involvement in a joint research project between UniSA, SAAB, Genix Ventures and the University of Adelaide, titled ‘Narrative Visualisation of Simulations for Force Design’.
You will build upon your previous track record of research in narrative visualisation, examining its application for supporting an analysts’ understanding of force-on-force simulation in the defence domain. You will also build visualisation concept demonstrators in the Unity 3D engine that use narrative visualisation techniques to address key issues faced by the analysts.
Skills and Experience
A PhD qualification in computer science and, ideally, real world development experience within industry is essential, as is and experience in developing Unity applications. You will be developing your record in research demonstrated through peer reviewed publications and conference presentations, as well as a depth of knowledge in information visualisation techniques.
Working with industry partners and artificial intelligence experts will be a key feature of this role, and so you will demonstrate highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with your research colleagues. Strong project management skills, including the ability to initiate, plan and manage projects ensuring milestones are met, will also be highly valued.
