The School of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Research Fellow to join a dynamic research program in the broad context of Data Science. This position is affiliated with the recently launched Melbourne Centre for Data Science at the University of Melbourne, an initiative partnered between the School of Computing and Information Systems and the School of Mathematics and Statistics. The position is housed within the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and will report to Professor Howard Bondell, Co-Director of the Centre.

The position offers a rare opportunity to join a growing Data Science initiative and allows for both a multi-disciplinary environment as well as the continued development of an individual research agenda. The initial appointment is for three years, with the possibility of renewal, based on funding availability.

To be considered for this position you will have a PhD in statistics, computer science or related quantitative field. You will also have an emerging research track record as evidenced by publications and the development of research initiatives.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 3 years.
