Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering
Faculty of Engineering and Environment
The Faculty of Engineering and Environment is passionate about the principles and applications of Science and Technology in all its forms and strives to be excellent in research, teaching and innovation.Working within the Department of Mechanical and Construction Engineering, you will provide expertise in an area of Mechanical Engineering to further enhance research, teaching and entrepreneurial activities. This will include designing, developing and delivering high quality teaching activities, undertaking individual and joint research to produce quality academic outputs and inform teaching and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the subject.
Mechanical Engineering has particular strengths in Renewable & Sustainable Energy, Fluid Mechanics & Thermodynamics, Materials and Product Development & Manufacturing Technology. We are particularly looking for candidates with expertise in Applied Mechanics, Engineering Design or Systems Engineering, however, we welcome applications from any relevant area of Mechanical Engineering.
You will contribute to the Department to further enhance research, teaching and enterprise. This will include designing, developing and delivering high-quality teaching & learning activities, undertaking individual and collaborative research to generate high-quality academic publications and inform teaching, and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the Department and its subject areas
The successful candidate must hold a first degree and be qualified to doctoral level in a relevant discipline, with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. A proven ability to deliver high quality research and teaching is essential, together with an appropriate publication profile and track record of bidding for external income.
