We are seeking a HCI/ qualitative researcher to work with us on the DigiVerse project, focusing on understanding barriers and workarounds to the access of digital mental health services with diverse populations of young people. This EPSRC funded project is a collaboration between the University of Bristol and XenZone, who are pioneers in the digital mental health service delivery space with over 250,000 users.
Successful candidates will be expected to engage a variety of stakeholders (young people from black and ethnic minority and lower socio-economic status backgrounds, charity organisations who support them with their mental health) in interviews, surveys and co-design workshops to understand the needs of these populations in relation to online mental health service delivery.
For this post we are particularly looking for candidates with relevant experience in co-design and qualitative research techniques. However, the ideal candidate should also have some experience analysing high level statistical data outputs. The second work package of this project will involve looking for correlations relating to how people engage with XenZone (times spent on the system, number of returns to the site), the types of resources they prefer (face-to-face support, self-management options, peer support), and the amount of engagement they have in peer support activities.
For informal discussion about the post you are welcome to contact: Dr Roisin McNaney: r.mcnaney@bristol.ac.uk
We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
