About This Opportunity
As the Professorial Chair in Ethics, you will provide education (teaching), academic and research leadership in the area of Ethics. Working closely with Disciplines and Industry to ensure the applied relevance and translational value of your work, you will design or lead the design of Ethics as either part of courses, standalone courses or Award/Non-Award Programs.
You will be a leading authority in content and practice in the area of ethics. Through research activities, educational leadership and thought leadership, you will drive the conversation and application of ethics in business, government, community and society.
You will establish a relevant teaching, Industry Advisory and research groups, with capacity for expansion by attracting postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows through external funding schemes, and developing collaborative research projects with the KPMG Chair in Organisational Trust, staff in the Business School, and elsewhere (both at UQ and in other institutions) to build capacity in applied and transferable research.
This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located close to Brisbane’s city centre. Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an engaged and collaborative academic leader whose previous experience matches the following:
- Possess a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline with a distinguished record of scholarly teaching and academic leadership,
- Recognition as a leading international authority in ethics and/or ethics-related areas as evidenced by grants, publications, research supervision and other research performance based on recognised performance indices at a Professorial level,
- Desire to engage with industry and contribute to the community within the School and wider University community.
