In partnership with the renowned Global Institute for Women’s Leadership based at King’s College London, The Australian National University has established a ‘sister Institute’ based in Australia, with an Asia-Pacific focus. The University now seeks an outstanding scholar and exceptional leader to be the new Institute’s inaugural Director.
The vision of The Global Institute for Women’s Leadership is to create a world in which being a woman is not a barrier to becoming a leader in any field, or a factor leading to negative perceptions of an individual’s leadership. The Institute aims to drive broad and sustainable change by undertaking original research, sharing existing evidence and communicating what works. The Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at ANU will work in partnership with its London-based counterpart to create evidence-based policy solutions and promote gender equity across our region.
The Director will be core to the Institute’s success, leading collaboratively to develop and deliver an ambitious vision and strategy for the Institute, focused on achieving impact and engagement. Underpinned by an internationally acknowledged record of research excellence and academic achievement in a relevant discipline, the Director will exemplify collegiality, enabling work across the disciplinary span at ANU, and will foster strong external networks and partnerships. A highly skilled communicator attuned to the nuances required to have influence, the Director will have credibility and impact nationally and globally.
ANU is ranked amongst the top universities in Australia and the world. Based in the capital city, Canberra, it is renowned for the quality of its research, the excellence of its teaching, and its ongoing contribution to public life.
