About the opportunity 

This exciting opportunity will provide the full suite of professional executive support services to the Head of School and School Manager ensuring the specific needs and day-to-day administrative requirements are managed in a highly efficient and effective manner.

As the first point of contact representing the Head of School and School Manager for the School of Physics, this role requires a positive can-do attitude and works within a dynamic and diverse team for a School that is at the leading edge of technology.

While working in this highly functional team, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your client service skills in employing tact and diplomacy, your extensive administrative and organisational skills in order to manage detailed operational activities on a day-to-day basis, ensuring matters brought to the Head of School team are prioritised and managed effectively. This is a busy role; therefore, the successful candidate must be confident to use their own initiative and be able to work both independently and as part of a broader team.

• highly organised individual with extremely strong attention to detail, who has previous experience in providing high level executive support and administrative services in a similar role, with high level computer skills literacy, proficient in Office 365 as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Calendar booking.
• adoption of technology to make processes more efficient and streamlined
• ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work.
• provision of high level executive secretarial and executive support including reviewing correspondence and identifying and prioritising urgent issues, tracking completion of tasks, maintaining diary including arranging, booking and organising of travel, nationally and internationally - being empathetic of time zones, travel time and other detailed requirements. 
• organising events, catering and associated marketing via online platforms.
