This post represents an exciting opportunity for an experienced social scientist with a strong track record in a research field relevant to rural health. We will consider applications from researchers with a wide variety of backgrounds and interests. Candidates should have well developed mixed/multi-method research skills and success as measured by academic outputs and broader research impact.
This post is part of a major strategic investment by the University of Lincoln in rural health and the successful post holder will work closely with Global Professor of Rural Health and Care, Professor Mark Gussy. The University has a diverse portfolio of research including studies evaluating hospital-based and community-based interventions, service design and delivery, and health technologies and will expand and consolidate these strengths in the rural context. The post holder will be part of an outstanding multi-disciplinary team of statisticians, epidemiologists, mathematical modellers, social scientists, clinical trialists, bioinformaticians and other experts. The University is associated with the UK National Centre for Rural Health and Care (NCRHC), an independent organisation also located in Lincoln.
The post holder will help drive research co-produced with practitioners, policy influencers and the public to address the most pressing health issues facing rural populations locally, nationally and internationally.
The successful applicant will be expected to make a significant contribution towards establishing the university as an international centre of excellence in Rural Health, evidenced through an expanded research portfolio, publications in high-quality journals, and demonstrated research impact.
