Job Description Summary

The Associate Director of Digital Engagement is responsible for contributing to and executing the strategy for the Wharton Alumni Club website platform, which is the leading engagement vehicle for domestic, international, and affinity clubs.

Job Description

This position works closely with external vendors, internal partners across Wharton and Penn, and alumni leaders to create and disseminate best practices for use of the NationBuilder platform, consult with alumni club leaders to provide digital strategy, and manages a core group of volunteer leaders. The position will also provide guidance and direction as the primary liaison between the respective club and the School. The incumbent will work closely with key stakeholders across the School to communicate and enforce policies, standards, and procedures, and partners with the Global Clubs team to integrate students and new alumni into the Global Club Network.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.1-2 years experience in customer service oriented environment involving the use of technology and 2-3 years experience in alumni relations or development desired.
  • Demonstrates a high level of comfort with technology usage and willingness to learn the functionality of new platforms. Experience with NationBuilder website platform is a plus.
  • Ability to gather and articulate user requirements between functional and technical staff
  • Exceptional project management presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CMS platforms (Salesforce desired), Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite, working knowledge of data exchange desired
  • Experience in serving volunteer organizations and understanding volunteer perspective
  • Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of international cultures and heightened diplomacy skills; confidence and maturity to work with senior business alumni and faculty
  • Exceptional collaboration, leadership, and conflict resolution skills required
  • Effective at handling international and domestic relations remotely
  • Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel domestically
