We are seeking a Post-doctoral research scientist to conduct research within the Mucosal Immunology Research laboratory of Dr. Eoin McNamee. The group has a strong focus on the inflammatory bowel diseases and we target critical cytokine, chemokine and microRNA networks to understand how healthy immune responses are maintained at the intestinal mucosal barrier and what processes over-ride this during disease or infection. The successful candidate will join a new programme of research investigating the molecular mechanisms of how microRNA circuits shape intestinal immunity. Translational immunology studies including clinical and industrial collaborations, will investigate how candidate microRNA’s in mononuclear phagocytes either promote tissue healing or drive chronic inflammation in models of inflammatory bowel disease or bacterial infection.

Post Doctoral Researcher Salary Scale: €37,784 per annum

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the above scale.
