Job Description

We're looking for a research assistant to work on a research project that involves automatic speech recognition (ASR) of Arabic dialects, particularly Gulf dialects (the candidate does not need to know Arabic, but it's a plus). The research involves applying and developing machine learning algorithms, including deep neural networks, and handling moderate to large amounts of speech and text data. The research assistant may later apply for the PhD program to continue working on this project or a related research in the area of speech and language understanding (or other AI subfields).

Ideally, the candidate should have:

• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area (computer/electrical engineering, math & stats).
• Proficiency in Python
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and toolkits.
• Academic writing skills in English

Minimum Qualification

B.sc. in Computer Science or a related area (computer/electrical engineering, Math & Stats).

Preferred Qualification

M.Sc.
