Description:
The Institute for Research in Inclusive Education located at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University conducts research on teaching and learning in inclusive and special settings, with emphasis on supporting learners with special educational needs. The Institute seeks to employ an assistant professor with expertise in the field of behavioral interventions in students with neurodevelopmental disorders and severe/multiple disabilities. The candidate should contribute to research as well as teaching activities of the Institute by (a) preparing, conducting, and evaluating empirical and/or theoretical research, and publishing its outcomes for the international research community; and (b) teaching courses focusing on applied behavior analysis. Research and teaching focus of the prospective candidate should focus on behavioural interventions in children with autism or other neurodevelopmental disabilities in inclusive as well as special settings. The research outcomes should be relevant for educational and cultural institutions (schools, school counselling centres, early intervention centres and social support services) with the potential to enhance the development of their staff and delivery of evidence-based intervention.
The successful candidate should:
- hold a PhD degree in the field of special education or similar, awarded by a higher education institution outside of the Czech Republic;
- have at least three years of experience working at a higher education institution, conducting research and/or teaching activities in the area of applied behavior analysis
- have a publishing record of at least two publications registered in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science or Scopus
- have experience as a member or primary investigator on a research grant (an advantage)
- have knowledge and practical skills in applied behavior analysis strategies and be certified in the field of applied behavior analysis (Board Certified Behavior Analyst)
- have excellent communication skills in English and an ability to collaborate with multiple research teams
