An outstanding leadership opportunity exists for a Head of School within the highly reputable School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. As a key member of the Science and Engineering Faculty Executive team, this is an excellent career opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of an ambitious strategy, which will realise positive outcomes in collaboration, research activity, STEM education, and mutually beneficial relationships with industry, government and other partners.  Reporting to the Deputy Dean, the Head of School will be an inclusive leader andskilled communicator, with the ability to work with all levels of the University and partners to lead, support and develop the School’s strengths in research, teaching and external engagement.

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering brings together engineers who deliver teaching and research excellence in the sustainable design, planning, construction and operation of infrastructure and resource management to solve societal challenges and support more liveable communities, and design and improve infrastructure by addressing real-world challenges such as overpopulation, naturaldisasters and climate change. The School’s key research strengths include but are not limited to; climate change adaptation, disaster management, infrastructure resilience, structural health monitoring, fire safety engineering, transport systems and resilient pavements.
