The company

Incorporated in 1999, CLS is a leading lift installation and servicing company operating from its base in Paisley, Scotland. CLS have ambitious expansion plans, including the launch of their own brand of lift system; returning lift manufacturing to the West of Scotland after 25 years.

The role

You will be instrumental in the development of CLS's in-house design engineering capability and will take a leading role in the design and development of the next generation of high-performance, energy efficient belt driven lift system;         

Responsibilities includes:
i)    development of CAD/PDM based design framework for configuring goods and platform lifts 
ii)    concurrent structural analysis of the lift system to evaluate performance of the belt drive system 
iii)    specification of smart drive and control system for modular lift platform and the lift structure where required 
iv)    build and test working prototype (demonstrator) using belt-driven technology.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 2:1 BA Engineering degree 
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge and experience with CAD, PDM and CAE packages 
  • Knowledge of visualisation techniques for building product capability portfolio 
  • Computer programming skills with experience in implementing IoT/control solutions
  • Strong experimental background and excellent technical writing, preparation and reporting
