Lecturer Salary: £43,351 to £48,323 per annum, pro-rata with additional performance related pay up to £60,403 per annum, pro-rata

Senior Lecturer Salary: £53,205 to £59,302 per annum, pro-rata with additional performance related pay up to £74,126 per annum, pro-rata

Cranfield Forensic Institute (CFI) provides a Centre of Excellence for the application of science and technology to law enforcement particularly through niche areas of forensic science.  We offer a suite of highly successful forensic postgraduate degrees and short courses.  Research and development underpins the educational activity of the CFI.

The post holder will have some specialty in cultural heritage, especially heritage under threat within either in the UK or Internationally.  Primary responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Continued production of high impact research, particularly in the field of cultural heritage, but with a willingness to investigate how analysis and forensic methodology might impact on the field
  • Delivery of the MSc Forensic Investigation of Heritage Crime in collaboration with CFI colleagues and others
  • Development of new specialist elective modules and short courses

Additionally, at the Senior Lecturer level, you will be expected to provide leadership, such as course management, business development, preparing large funding bids, acting as a Principal Investigator on large funded research projects and managing collaborative networks of researchers linked with industry.

You will have a PhD (or nearing completion) in a relevant academic subject and experience of relevant research within an academic or other environment with a record of high-value peer-reviewed publications.

You will have gained appropriate experience for this post through either an academic role, specialising in cultural heritage, and/or as a practitioner in a museum, archaeological unit or other relevant institution.

Additionally, at the Senior Lecturer level, you will have Masters or undergraduate course director experience; extensive professional experience with a substantial reputation in your research field and substantial contributions in research, teaching and leadership & management.
