Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 499627), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or equivalent. Fluency in written and spoken English, good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation are essential. They should be experienced in synthetic organic and inorganic chemistry, physical organic and inorganic chemistry, and organometallic catalysis. The appointee will be engaged in the research of metal-carbene chemistry including isolation/detection of reactive metal-carbene species and development of metal-carbene-based synthetic methodologies under the supervision of Professor Chi-Ming Che. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
